Whoever despises his neighbor is a sinner, but blessed is he who is generous to the poor. (Proverbs 14:21) I know a guy who sold his business and went to be a missionary in Asia. While many young men were seeking success (whatever that means), he found it and left it to share...
For the past week, a team of American students from The Orchard have been running an English camp in Budapest, Hungary for Hungarian students. Unlocking the Bible has had the privilege of partnering with this team by supplying them with Pastor Colin’s book 10 Keys for Unlocking the Bible in Hungarian through our Multi-Cultural Outreach initiative.
We asked one of the missionaries, Dave Berry, to share some details about the Lord’s work at the camp:
High School students and a leadership team from The Orchard are running a two-week English camp alongside Reach Global in Budapest. It has been eight years since The Orchard starting supporting this camp, and two additional camps started in the towns of Tapolca and Zsambok over the last year. Many students have come to receive Christ as their Savior and Lord over this time period. Last year, through your financial gifts and prayer support, Unlocking the Bible, in conjunction with the Reach Global Budapest team, translated into Hungarian 10 Keys for Unlocking the Bible, written by Pastor Colin Smith.
This year during camp, we launched a 10 Keys for Unlocking the Bible study to further encourage and develop disciples (about 85 campers attend camp, who range from 13 to 16 years of age). The invitation was open to anyone who desired to attend. We want to praise God, as the first session this year had seven youth attend, and during the fourth session we had 19 participants. We are encouraged by their interest and participation in the sessions. To Christ be all the glory.
Your continued financial support is needed as we seek God’s will about what book would be translated into the Hungarian language next. Please keep us in your prayers as we minister to these students. Pray that more Hungarians will come to participate and that they will gain clarity as to what God is revealing to them through his Word.
