“People will come from east and west, and from north and south, and recline at table in the kingdom of God.” Luke 13:29

Jesus said His kingdom is like a great banquet to which all are invited. On that day, all who are there will shout, “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready” (Rev. 19:6-7).

Are you ready? When Jesus died on the cross, two thieves were crucified with Him—one on either side. Both of them hurled abuse at Jesus. But then something changed in one of them. One thief realized that Jesus was a king. He heard Jesus praying, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do” (Luke 23:34).

“Do you not fear God?” he said to the other thief. “We are receiving the due reward for our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong” (23:40-41). Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom” (23:42), and Jesus said to him, “Today you will be with me in paradise” (23:43).

Do you see what the thief did? He recognized his sinful condition. He realized that he had broken God’s law. He made no excuses or evasions. He asked Jesus to save him. And he believed the promise that Jesus gave.

However far from God you may be today, you can do what the thief on the cross did. Recognize your sinful condition. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Ask Him to save you. And God’s kingdom will begin in you.

The offer of salvation is for you. Have you received it with joy? Today is the day of salvation. Come to Christ and He will welcome you into His kingdom!
