Gospel Faith, Part 1
People talk all the time about what they’re looking for in a church—worship styles, children’s ministry, preaching style. In part one of Gospel Faith, Pastor Colin talks about what God is looking for in a church.
People talk all the time about what they’re looking for in a church. But what is God looking for in a church? That’s the question we should be asking. It’s not for the church to decide what is important and then look for Bible texts to support our passion. We must start with the Bible, where God tells us what’s important to Him, so we can follow after His passion. Discover God’s passion for His people in this ten-sermon series on 1 Timothy.

“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery” (Galatians 5:1).

“Give proper recognition to those widows who are really in need. But if a widow has children or grandchildren, these should learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents, for this is pleasing to God.” 1 Timothy 5:3-4 (NIV) If […]
“The elders who direct the affairs of the church are worthy of double honor…” 1 Timothy 5:17 (NIV) Gifted and godly leaders are a sign of God’s blessing on a church. Leaders who don’t know what they’re doing are a sign of God’s judgment. Where do I get that? In a time when God’s judgment […]
