In every one of Jesus’ promises, He tells us something about our relationship with Him.
1. Yoke yourself to Christ: Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you (Mat. 11:28-29).
2. Come to Christ: All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away (John 6:37).
3. Follow Christ: Follow me… and I will make you fishers of men (Mat. 4:19).
4. Obey Christ: If you love me, you will obey what I command. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever (John 14:15-16).
5. Confess Christ: Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven (Mat. 10:32).
6. Trust Christ: Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. … I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go … I will come back (John 14:1-3).
7. See Christ: Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory (John 17:24).
